11 weeks

Still feeling yucky. I have no drive to do anything. I'm tired all day. When I wake up, I will have a bowl of cereal and then feel like falling right back to sleep. I'm super lazy and don't want to do anything. No dishes, no laundry, no make up, nothing. If it weren't for me taking Ethan to school two days a week, I probably would not leave the house. It's horrible. I hate feeling this way and I hope it does not last long.

This is the first good picture of our little peanut. It's growing strong and almost a week ahead! She said the fetus is measuring at 12 weeks!

We celebrated Mother's Day this past weekend. Nick, Ethan and I took my mom to brunch at The Hyatt Gainey. It was one of the best spreads that I have seen and had. We typically go to the Desert Ridge Marriott but the past few years it's gotten more expensive and has gone down hill as far as food goes. The Gainey had a cute kids section and the tastiest lobster ravioli's I have ever had. After brunch we went to Nick's parents house for dinner with the family. They had a tasty pork loin with all the fixin's.

What a Happy Mother's Day it was!

10 weeks

10 weeks and feeling yucky. I have been starting to have "morning" sickness all day long. Not that I'm puking but have that feeling pretty much all day. Nothing sounds good to eat, have no appetite but when something pops into my head, then I have to have that. I have driven 25 minutes one way to pick up pizza and then back during rush hour at 5 pm. Close to an hour round trip when all was said and done. But it sounded good and I had to have it! It was worth it too!

Second pregnancy and I feel like I'm getting bigger, quicker this time. Not that this lovely picture shows anything more than a tiny bump but I feel like my clothes are a bit tighter. It's that awful "in-between" period where you just look like all those doughnuts are showing in the mid.

On another note, yesterday May 1, 2010, Nick and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! We went to Ruth's Chris for dinner. It's one of our favorite places to go for a special occasion. I always get the stuffed chicken and this time I added a lobster tail. Oh my was it delicious with the melted butter to dip it in! I probably gained 5 pounds just from dinner :o) I love celebrating our anniversary. In a world where the divorce rate is something crazy like 60%, I truly enjoy announcing another year that we are together.

Love and be Loved!

9 weeks

(I am going to try to take belly pictures during this pregnancy. I'm not good at being consistent with this sort of thing, so we'll see.)

We bought Ethan this BIG BRO shirt thinking it would be a cute way in telling the grandparents the news. We had gone over to my mom's house to go through her camping gear. We wanted to plan a camping trip this summer and take Ethan for his first time. We had gone over after one of Ethan's tee-ball games so he had on his uniform. We went and changed him into this shirt and just waited to see if Grammy would read his shirt and catch on. Well after about 20 min I couldn't take it anymore since I guess it wasn't obvious enough. So I said to Ethan, "Ethan, did you tell Grammy you are going to be a big brother?" Finally my mom read his shirt and was super excited! She started hooting and hollering in the garage. She called her sister and started spreading the news!
The next day we had Nick's parents over to let them in on the news as well. We were out back and Ethan was doing slip-and-slide. When he was done, I slipped his BIG BRO shirt on and let him go again. Well... again... time goes by, not obvious enough, I said the same thing to Ethan. It must not have really sunk in because it was pretty quiet for a while. So once we had to explain that WE WERE HAVING ANOTHER BABY then the grandparents got happy for us. They texted Nick's sisters and they called back right away. Lauren was super excited, crying and laughing at the same time, saying she just "knew" I was pregnant!

So the news is out! Once you tell family, it spreads like wild fire! Everyone can't wait to find out what we will be having. We will find out in another 6 weeks. Our estimated due date is November 24, 2010, a Thanksgiving baby. If I can go a few weeks early that would be great!

March 24th, 2010

Not 1, not 2 but 3 tests later.... I'm Pregnant!!!!!!!

So it was a wednesday night, Ethan was in the tub, Nick was vacuuming and I was a few days late. I had just been to the OBGYN the week before and had no thoughts of being pregnant but decided to take a test to just "see". Took a test... waited the recommended 2 minutes and took a look. To my upmost amazing surprise... a two line, positive test was staring me in the face! Now when I took the first test when I was pregnant with Ethan, it was a maybe 2 line, kinda, sorta. Enough for me to question and take another one. Now this test was a bright 2 line positive. My initial thought was, WHAT!?!?! with a smile on my face. Then I started to shake and get nervous. So I went to find Nick. Picking up books in Ethan's room I said to him, "Hey, I just took a positive pregnancy test" and showed him the test. He looked at me and said, "what, what, what, what?" So I repeated my previous statement and showed him the test again. We both had a puzzled look on our face and I told him that I was just at the Dr. and why wouldn't they have had said something? Still doubting the trusty $1.50 box of 3 tests from Big Lots, we decided for me to take another one before bed. Since it was about 7:30 pm, I went and had a few glasses of water so I would be able to take another test in a couple hours. In the mean time, my mind was going crazy. This is something Nick and I have been wanting for a long time and I was not wanting to get my hopes up or to have a wrong positive test. So 10 o'clock rolled around and I took another test. Ya hoo! Another positive test! So now I was really confused and getting pretty excited. I told Nick, in the morning I would take the $14 digital EPT test that I had been saving to see what it said.
Not much for sleep but morning rolls around and the first thing I do is roll out the EPT. Hey, hey...it says "PREGNANT"! Well....I guess I'm pregnant! Really?! WOW! Super excited and nervous at the same time. So I wait for the Dr.'s office to open and explain my story. I had just been in and no one said I was preggo and now I took 3 positive pregnancy tests. She said "well, you were too early for us to tell, so Congratulations!" So at this point I'm only about 4 1/2 weeks pregnant and am scheduled for my first pre-natal visits in 4 weeks!

Let me just say... Nick and I had been trying for a while to have another baby. Before I had my Dr.'s appointment to "see why we weren't getting pregnant", I got on my knees and prayed. I basically told God that I was tired of trying to control this situation. I was giving this to Him and prayed that everything was alright with me to have another baby. I said I knew that He will let us bring another baby into this world when He was ready for us to. I was letting go of the frustrations and fear and praying for God to help me be the best Mom I could be to Ethan. A week later I found out we were going to be having another sweet little baby!

Praise God! He has answered our prayers.

testing...testing...figuring this out
