Today is the first day of Kindergarten!

Since Ethan was born, I would hear from everyone that "they grow up so quickly!" I would think, I wish people would stop saying that.... he's a baby! Then being in preschool for two years, they would say, "Stop and enjoy them now. Because in the blink of an eye, they will be going off to kindergarten, then high school, then college." Well we are officially in Elementary school now! It was a total flash back to my school years when we went for kindergarten round up. Looking at the class rooms and being in the cafeteria. Thinking no more sweet, little preschool. Time for the big kid school. Then the fears and worries started to hit me. Sending him off for the full day at such a big school, with so many kids. Would he ever get one-on-one attention from his teacher with all the other classmates? There is only one teacher to 25+ kids. Yikes! I don't like that at all. I also did not like the school that we were in the district for. So I got him into a school that I had heard good things about and is not that much further away. We went to the open house and were able to see the campus and meet his teacher. Ethan met Ms. Lindsay and some other classmates. He was checking out his new class and making friends already. Not surprising at all! This kid had come out of his little "shy box" before last year at preschool and can meet and make friends in seconds. I love that about him! We all went to a packed school this morning and left with no tears! Hugs and kisses and see you later! I wonder if there were parents at the BooHoo-WooHoo Breakfast?

My sweet, biggest-boy Ethan!
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you today! You walked into kindergarten like you owned the place! You made your way through the sea of parents and went right to your seat like your teacher asked. I know you will have 26 new friends today and I'm sure it will take a while to remember everyones names. Mommy and Gavin will miss you terribly while you are in school. We cannot wait until 3:15 to squeeze you up and learn about your day! I hope you are having fun and "eat your apples". I love you forever and ever, to the moon and back!

(she looks happy huh?)
